At CKC we follow a daily rhythm that allows for flexibility while maintaining a structure kids can rely on.
A Day in the Life of a cool kid
-
Throughout the morning kids enjoy free play while everyone arrives and gets settled.
We are flexible, if parents need a modified drop off time we can help, just let us know!
-
Around 7:15AM breakfast will be served! We know that not all kids will be here at 7, and NO hungry tummies are allowed at CKC! If you plan on arriving later, we will work with you to ensure your kiddo is well fed and doesn’t miss a meal.
-
Time to go over our plans for the day! What will we be learning? What activities are planned? And most importantly, how are YOU doing friend!?
Let’s read a book, sing some songs, and get our day started!
-
Kids are served a yummy nutritious snack. By morning snack time all of the kids are here and we view it as a time to connect with one another.
-
CKC is stocked full of high-quality toys. It’s time to hang out with your friends and let your imagination run wild!
We have rotating sensory bins set up at CKC that align with our monthly themes. These are available for kids to play with at this time! -
The best part of the day! Time to run around with your friends and get a little messy. At the CKC we have a small but clean and fully equipped play area that kids are free to enjoy!
-
Time to eat! At CKC kids enjoy mostly organic and homemade foods (the occasional dino nugget is good for the soul) ALWAYS prepared using cast iron and stainless-steel cookware. Kids eat using stainless-steel plates, cups, bowls, and silverware. NO plastic or teflon here!
Lunches are often a “lunch and learn”, where Mrs. Taylor reads a book or talks to students about topics such as the planets, colors, or nature. Lunch and learns generally align with our monthly themes. -
After lunch, kids get ready for nap time. We know not all kids nap so those that don’t will be encouraged to participate in quiet free play or snuggle up and read books with Mrs. Taylor.
Nap time runs from 12PM-2PM.
-
Snack time!
-
Time to reflect on our day! We will sing songs, read books, and be silly!
-
Time to get creative and messy! What will we do today? Paint? Make clay handprints? Dot marker activities? Jewlery making? There are so many options!
-
One last time to run around with your friends before the day is done!
-
Time to say see you later! We had so much fun today!
“What did you do at school today?”
